In Lansing, Michigan, mad motorist Grant Taylor killed firefighter Dennis Rodeman in a charity drive, reported the Associated Press on September 14. Taylor, 22, admitted to deliberately running down and fatally hitting Rodeman, 35, because he was angry at firefighters who were in the road collecting for charity and slowing traffic. Taylor told police that he vented his anger to firefighters but got no satisfaction from them. So turned around and ran into Rodeman who was participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Fill the Boot fundraiser. Rodeman died of his injuries at the hospital.
